The day after Julien's harrowing chase, he and Genevieve discuss the mysterious origin of the Knights Templar, a religious military order founded by an ancestor of the Duke of Lorraine in Jerusalem during the First Crusade.
The Templars excavated the ruins of Solomon's Temple, and shortly thereafter rose to tremendous power. The order was destroyed in 1307, but Julien and Genevieve think it might have survived underground to the present day.
Later Julien sneaks into crypt of the Church of the Magdalene and removes some scrolls that seem to be connected to his investigation. He also learns the strange temple in the sewers is an exact replica of Solomon's Temple.
That night the Duke of Lorraine seduces Genevieve… or is it the other way around?
